Children’s Hospital of Illinois has served as the primary teaching facility for the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, with leading residency programs in pediatrics and the largest program for Internal Medicine/Pediatrics in the country.

Nursing students from Saint Francis Medical Center College of Nursing, Illinois Central College, Bradley University, Illinois Wesleyan University,and other programs come to Children's Hospital of Illinois to learn state of the art pediatic care. In addition, the Saint Francis School of Radiology Technology, School of Histotechnology, School of Clinical Laboratory Science, and the Dietetics Program all affiiiate with Children's Hospital of Illinois for clinical experiences. Students in physical therapy, Occupational Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, and Social Work from colleges across the country come to Children's Hospital of Illinois to learn how to care for children.
