Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course

The Pediatric Advanced Life Support course was developed by the American Heart Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics to prepare participants to recognize and provide appropriate intervention for a child or infant at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest. The course teaches swift recognition of the pre-arrest state and stresses intervention at that point to avert a cardiopulmonary arrest. It is taught primarily in a small group setting to maximize student–teacher interaction. This course is for medical, nursing, respiratory therapy and pre-hospital care professionals involved in providing emergency care to infants and children. Participants successfully completing the course will receive a PALS card valid for two years.
