To help advance the cause of pediatric medicine, Children's Hospital of Illinois is part of a national fundraising effort known as the Children’s Miracle Network. One hundred percent of the money raised directly benefits Children's Hospital of Illinois. Fundraising takes place throughout the year, including the annual CMN Telethon Broadcast the first Sunday in June. At Children's Hospital of Illinois, those funds have been allocated for the following:
- Educational materials for patients and families;
- Funding for the Parent’s Support Fund, which helps with food, lodging, meals and transportation for the families of hospitalized children;
- New pediatric programs and services such as Bike Helmet Safety, Shaken Baby Syndrome, and car seat safety checks;
- Pediatric research;
- State-of-the-art pediatric equipment to enhance patient care.
