Serving as Central Illinois' leaders and experts in childhood safety and injury prevention.

Unintentional injuries are the leading cause of death to children.  As Children's Hospital of Illinois, we can play a major role in advocating for children's safety and well-being.

Advocacy provides education and annual activities to build awareness of and support for children's issues throughout the community related to safety, health, and injury prevention.  Our Advocacy staff and committee provide a variety of programs and events that impact the wellbeing of children in our area.

Through generous funding from Kohl's Cares for Kids and OSF Healthcare System, Children's Hospital of Illinois Mobile Safety Van was developed to bring injury prevention programs, like bicycle safety and child passenger safety, to neighborhoods and communities.  This 26-foot, custom-built van is equipped with two outside video monitors, mobile stage, and external sound system for outdoor presentations and programs.

If you are interested in having the Mobile Safety Van at your next event, complete an Event Request Form and fax to 309-671-4832.

Please note:  Mobile Safety Van requests will not be taken for any events scheduled from November 15 - February 15.
