The Pediatric Ophthalmology Service provides comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and medical and surgical treatment for children ages newborn to 18. Services are provided through the Illinois Eye Center. Their medical staff includes highly experienced surgeons performing:

• Cataract surgery (congenital, infantile or juvenile)
• Plastic and reconstructive surgery
• Refractive surgery to correct nearsightedness,
•  farsightedness and astigmatism
• Treatment of eye diseases and injuries

On staff are fellowship-trained specialists in diabetic and retinal diseases, corneal diseases and pediatric eye care.

Sophisticated in-office capabilities include:

• Corneal mapping
• Eye photography
• Fluorescein angiography
• Laser surgery
• Minor surgery
• Radial keratotomy
• Visual field testing
