The Regional Developmental Diagnostic Center of the University of Illinois college of Medicine at Peoria serves the needs of children who have known or suspected developmental concerns. The center offers comprehensive diagnostic services and coordination of subspecialty care and is primarily focused on seeing newborns to 5-year-olds with delayed development. However, school-aged children are considered on a case-by-case basis.

Detailed assessments of cognitive, motor, language, feeding, neurological or behavioral function are available.  Additional evaluations are scheduled in conjunction with the neurodevelopmental evaluations as needed.

Physicians, health departments, community agencies, schools or parents can make a referral, but a primary care provider must be identified and advised of the referral. Each referral is assigned to a medical diagnostic service coordinator who will assist the family through the entire diagnostic process. Spasiticity Management Program

The Spasiticity Management Program provides multidisciplinary evaluation and treatment of individuals with spasticity. The program is designed to get opinions from multiple specialists in developing a comprehensive treatment plan. The multidisciplinary team includes a developmental pediatrician or pediatric neurologist, a pediatric orthopedist, a pediatric neurosurgeon and a physical therapist. Diagnostic coordinators and nurse clinicians also assist in the process. The program is a joint venture of the Regional Diagnostic Center, Children's Hospital of Illinois and the Easter Seal-UCP Rehabilitation center.
