Physical therapy evaluates gross motor skills, mobility skills, lower extremity function, gait, general body strength, musculoskeletal pain or imbalances, and developmental sequencing. Orthotic evaluation/fabrication and assessments for adaptive equipment or devices for positioning, seating, and increased independence occur as needed.
Specialized programs:
Treatments may include facilitation of movement patterns, pre- & post-operative intervention for corrective orthopedic surgeries, instruction on use of assistive devices, gait training with various orthotics, home programming, aquatic therapy, and use of various modalities for strengthening, pain control, or tone control.
