promote motor and sensory development for integration into functional life skills... 
Occupational therapy evaluates general development, fine motor, self-care, upper extremity function, visual-perceptual skills, sensory processing, eye-hand coordination, handwriting, motor planning, and play skills.  It also assesses the need for adaptive equipment or devices for positioning, seating, and to increase independence or caregiver ease of self-care skills.  In all services, parental involvement in treatment is encouraged and necessary for successful intervention.

Specialized programs:


Occupational therapy benefits individuals with various difficulties or disabilities, including:  history of premature birth or delayed development, delayed or uncoordinated fine motor development, handwriting difficulties, sensory processing difficulties, orthopedic conditions affecting upper extremities, traumatic injuries, brachial plexus palsy, autism spectrum disorders, cerebral palsy, learning problems, and neuromuscular conditions.
