Children's Miracle Network

Established in 1983, Children's Miracle Network - the alliance of premier hospitals for children - is a non-profit organization dedicated to saving and improving the lives of children by raising funds for children's hospitals across North America. Each year, the 170 Children's Miracle Network hospitals provide the finest medical care, life-saving research and preventative education to help millions of kids overcome diseases and injuries of every kind.

To help advance the cause of pediatric medicine, Children's Hospital of Illinois is part of a national fund raising effort known as the Children's Miracle Network. The money raised through the Network directly benefits Children's Hospital of Illinois. Fundraising takes place throughout the year, including the annual CMN Telethon Broadcast the first weekend of June. All Telethon funds remain in the surrounding area served by participating hospitals. At Children's Hospital of Illinois, those funds have been allocated for the following:

  • Educational materials for patients and families
  • Funding for the Parent's Support Fund, which helps with food, lodging, meals and transportation for the families of hospitalized children
  • New pediatric programs and services such as Bike Helmet Safety, Shaken Baby Syndrome and car seat safety checks
  • Pediatric research
  • State-of-the-art pediatric equipment to enhance patient care
